From the moment I stepped in the line for Security at the Philly airport to this present moment (currently, I am at Kids International Ministries base in Manila), God continues to remind me that he is present with me on this journey. Why do I follow Christ?

My buddy and I are at McDonald’s sitting next to the window. We had just set our food down. A child, whose name is Jeremy, walks to the window and motions he needs food, then sits down right there on the ground. I have seen people ask for food before, but this child, Jeremy, he had a sense of desperation about him. When he sat down, he didn’t sit down like someone who has had food in the past two days. He fell into this place, exhaustion was written all over him, he had no energy, no life. We gave him food and drink, and we got to talk to him for a bit. As he left our...

Being called “Mama”

I have always had a heart for adoption, and I fully plan on adopting one day. I can see all of the benefits and how wonderful of a thing it is. I also have a deeply personal reason for wanting to adopt one day: my own beautiful mother was adopted when she was two weeks old. I still vividly remember the night that my mom told my two older brothers and I that she was adopted.
