He Will Provide

It's definitely lonely here sometimes. I mean sure i'm around people ALL the time, we can't go anywhere without 3 in a group and 1 guy, and i am surrounded by adorable kids daily. But it's still lonely sometimes. I miss my family, my friends, MY BED, and taco bell. Ohhhh Taco Bell. But as much as i miss home, i love it here more.      Every day, God gives me bliss here. When i am feeling overwhelmed or down, i instantly get a calmness over me where i think "Why would i ever want to leave this place?"...

I’m frustrated.

I don’t know how to say it any other way. I’m learning a lot about myself being here in the Philippines. I think that’s why I’m here actually (besides the obvious reasons of course). I’m having to admit to myself two things that I never wanted to openly admit before: I’m a visionary and I’m a very radical person. I’m realizing out here that I have this gift. This remarkable, but frustrating gift that God’s given me. I dream. I see things differently than most people.  I have vision. God’s vision. There’s only two words...

Freedom Is Rising

Who would have thought that in the course of one year I would live in East Africa for 5 months and live in the Philippines for another 4. God is so stinking good!    God has done some incredible, indescribable, and amazing things in and through me. I have experienced so many "God moments" that leave me in shock and ah! Sometimes I even end up on my knees with my hands raised, crying my eyes out at the way He moves, shows up and how He is really, truly, God Almighty. I've literally seen the lost get found, walking in His FREEDOM that He has given them from the...

The art of being flexible(pictures)

Well lets be honest, I have never been a flexible person. I like schedules and organization and when plans change I get frustrated at the lack of control I have. I knew going into this mission trip that I would have to be flexible to some degree but I never realized how much control I was going to lose. Three weeks ago I gave up my right to control when I arrived at training camp. We never knew what was next and never had a say in what we were doing. This was the best preperation I could have had for the Philippines. Every day is different and the plans never seem to pan out. I will make a...

Eleven.

11: I landed in the Philippines eleven days ago.  The community we serve starts just a few steps outside of our gate.  The houses literally line the streets.  What I mean by 'houses' are tiny little shacks made from tarps and scrap wood.    11: I get to serve alongside eleven amazing team members daily.  We eat together, pray together, praise together, laugh together, and get the chance to build eachother up.  I can;t wait to see how God uses us to teach and influence eachothers lives in the next few months....
