My Big, Big Heart!

I just want to share a few quick stories with you that happened this week: 1- The 8-month old baby at the children's home started scooting around (almost crawling)! Thankfully Kendra was there to take a video so I could watch it later and it made me SO happy! A lot of people in the states would think of this as a "milestone" for a baby and all I could think about was how she didn't have her parents there to watch this milestone. 2- At our feeding on Friday one of the nurses pointed to a little boy and asked me how old I thought he was. I came to find my voice not lose it….

I would like to pose a question Have you ever struggled with finding your voice? At home I was always the center of attention and could spontaneously bust out into a hyperactive crazy person if it meant that people would laugh. I always had things to say and really couldn't ever shut up. Most times my word vomit was great but sometimes it could get me in trouble. I never had trouble speaking exactly what I was thinking and really didn't know how to filter my thoughts. Sometimes I miss that Kailie. The Kailie here in the Philippines has a hard time keeping a conversation going. I...

Am I blind? Nope, just illusioned

Having fun with some kids in Tent City As I mentioned in my previous blog, I like to see a tangible result from my work.  A long term impact proves to me that my work is not vain.  Although this desire to make an impact is not necessarily a bad thing to strive after, the fact that I feed off this and let it impact my attitude and subsequently my ministry efforts takes away from what should be my only desire: to serve God with everything that I have.  The truth is that at times I become caught up in the monotony and seemingly short sighted nature of my daily...
