Let It Pour

“When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone; but the righteous stand firm forever!”    -Proverbs 10:25

The Philippines has been truly amazing. I have spent every day just waking up to seeing His light shining in and through everyone I meet. Whether it’s just walking down the street and having kids running up behind me grabbing my hands, smiling with such joy and grace that just makes my heart smile so big. Or going to the children’s home, playing basketball for hours with the forty plus children all day long, being able to just hold them, make them laugh, and just be with them is so amazing!  Or going on a “feeding” handing out food, clothes and just sharing His love and Grace with those that think they have nothing when they really have everything in His love! Even from all of that I have truly learned that, His grace is truly enough! Whatever it may be i have seen so many amazing things happen that the Lord has done in and through not only the team but also the people around us.

“Let Your Love come pouring out. Let Your Grace be burning now in our hearts God.” This something that the Lord gave to me as I was worshiping with some of the people on the team. At first I wasn’t sure what it meant or what He had spoken it to me for, but I knew it was from Him so it is always good. As this phrase keeps running over and over in my head I wonder first why, why would the Lord give this? And secondly what do I do with it? As I began to think and wonder this, I began to say it out loud, anywhere I went. After a while I let it become that annoying song that gets stuck in your head sometimes, yea that was what it became. Even so I didn’t mind it because I knew He had placed in my head and on my heart for a reason. One day while I was saying it out loud it started to sprinkle, and I could hear thunder in the distance. As it began to sprinkle I just laughed and said “okay Father”. I began to say it over and over and that sprinkle kept coming, turning into heavier rain. Then, wind picked up and that thunder that was in the distance before was getting closer and closer, with the thunder of course, came the lighting. At each crack of loud thunder there would be huge flashes of lighting and each time it would come, the rain and wind would pick up even more. I began to just stand in the rain laughing, singing what the Lord had given to me. In the middle of the thunder, lighting and POURING down rain I began to realize. The Lord had spoken to me of His Love POURING out and His Grace BURNING in my heart.  The rain POURS out of His love and with the rain brings loud thunder, bright lighting that BURNS, comes bursting out in the darkness of the night sky in the middle of the storm.

Here in the Philippines it rains almost every day. Sometimes it rains for just a few minutes other times it literally rains for days. It rains so hard that the streets get flooded and even worse people homes get flooded. It’s crazy to think what rain can do, but even still when it destroys things it can also bring life. Every time it rains I sing that phrase and just imagine instead of streets and homes being flooded with rain, having them being flooded with His Love, pouring out on them! I think that and now, I can truly see His love POURING out and His Grace BURNING out into the hearts and lives of the people that I come in contact with each and every day. With each storm, He is bringing His love, His pouring rain that pours out all over these people. He bring His thunderous thunder, and His bursting lighting that lights up and brings a burning fire that lights up their darkness and brings His Love and His burning fire to them, to save and rescue in their time of need. That is who our God is! It is truly amazing to see how the Lord will give you something, not knowing what the outcome or not even knowing the “why” of it. But really you don’t have to know the “why” of whatever He gives you because when He gives you something there’s no telling what He will bring to life. Who knows maybe He will bring a storm your way. It might be a big storm that brings a flood but really when the rain comes and the thunder and lightning come rolling in, all you have to do is sing out loud. Letting the rains come down with His Love POURING out and His Grace BURNING out as the Lighting and Thunder Roar  anywhere you go.
