You bring the child out in me

    A child's laughter is like music to my ears, weather it be toddler's, babie's or kid's. Just listening to their giggles, laughs, and or chuckles from whatever amusement that's around, and to hear them even sing praising God is amazing, it warms my heart, they always want to sing "Jesus loves the little children of the world". Every day here has it's daily dose of laughte and yes even a few tears here and there. remember as a kid playing "duck, duck goose, freeze tag?" or just things you don't really play much of anymore...

Break the Cycle

During the month that I have been in the Philippines there has been a lot of talk about the cycle of poverty in addition to many opportunities to observe this cycle first hand.  Kids are often all too likely to follow their parent’s footsteps and retain the lifestyle that they observed during their youth.  Part of this is caused by the fact that there simply are not the same opportunities (funds, networked connections are a couple examples) available to those who grow up poor.  Reflecting on my own life and upbringing, I...
