Growing up an Heir

From the moment I stepped in the line for Security at the Philly airport to this present moment (currently, I am at Kids International Ministries base in Manila), God continues to remind me that he is present with me on this journey. Training camp was great! This week we had different sessions, worship, and team time to encourage reflection and preparation for our trips all over the world. God showed up in new ways to me this week.

His Spirit is present. Jesus is most definitely alive! A man named Clint came up on stage one morning this week during worship and before he was supposed to give his talk. He began acknowledging and speaking the truth of our identity as sons and daughters of the King over us. He strongly encouraged us to acknowledge this truth.

Here it is: I am not going on a mission trip. God’s mission is me. He wants me, all of me. First and foremost, I am a beloved daughter of the King. I knew this; this wasn’t new to me. Though, I am not entirely sure that in the deepest and darkest corners of my heart I believed that ‘daughtership’ alone was enough. I am enough. I no longer need to be convinced of this. I choose to believe that what he wrote in the Scriptures is truth and applies to me, personally. Because of this, I am done doubting. I am also done being afraid. His Spirit resides in me and is with me wherever I go. Whom or what shall I fear? It wasn’t Adventures in Missions that brought me to Georgia for training camp. There’s a greater name to be praised. It was an invitation from the Most High God who brought me to participate in what he is doing across the globe. I am excited for the ways he will continue to show up, go before me, guide me, and walk beside me.

Lastly, we had to be ready by 5:15AM Saturday, June 7th (EST) to head to the Atlanta Airport. As the bus pulled into the airport, a rainbow draped across the morning sky opposite a warm-colored sunrise. Someone yelled something to the effect of: “God is showing his providence for our trips!”

Thanks for all your support in every part of this journey! Most importantly, remember that in all things: you are first a son or daughter of the King. You are loved and cherished. He loves you deeply. Checkout Galatians 4:6-7.
