So we officallly have like, barely two weeks left. I'm sorry, what? I seriously can't believe that i have been here for so long, because it feels like only yesterday that i was laying on the tarp at training camp thinking " What the hell have i gotten myself into?! " But, alas, our time is indeed almost up. It feels weird, like since this is my life, when i go home its like ill be thrown into a brand new life that i know nothing about. Also, i wont see my team everyday and that freaks me out since theyre like my friends now…. Anyway that being said, here are 10 things i will miss about the Philippinas!
1. THE KIDS. How can i leave!? No one will call me Tita anymore or beg me to take them to the Jollibee!
2. My team. Suprisingly, i like all of them, and i will miss them all dearly, since theyve been my only friends for months.
3.Late night McDo runs. literally im going to go home and try McDo there and be disgusted with myself because we basically go here every day.
4. Teaching at the school. Yes, today i did tell my first grade class that i was going to punch them in the face, but i mean its not like they speak english anyways. It has got to be my favorite part of my day, the kids are adorable and hilarious and sweet. life wont be the same without them.
5. The amazing staff here where we live. They literally provide everything for us and they are amazing.
6. The sunsets.
7. My top bunk. Bunk beds are so fun, plus there is so much room for activeties in our shared space!
8. Forced Family Fun. yes, it is forced……. yes, it is soooooo fun. sometimes. I'll miss it anyways.
9. 2:30 Merienda! Monai and deliciousness, all at your snack time!
10. THE KIDS. why cant they come home with me.
Now, here are all the things i am excited for when i return to 'Mer.
1. Seeing my mom and dad! living in a place where a lot of the children don't have parents has made me respect them so much more, every teenager should do a mission fo sho.
2. Being able to go places by myself! wahoo! alone time!…. even though when faced with it ill probably panic and call leader amy and such.
3. Seeing all my friends! It's weird, when you leave for so long you expect everyones life to just stop because you are not there…. thats not how it works.
4. Sleeping. Naps. Sweet, glorious naps.
5. TACO BELL IS LITERALLY 5 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE.
6. I can not wait to dress up and feel like a girl again. I dont even shower here that much and i feel like a boy.
7. Not having rice with every meal. if rice were a person, i'd punch it in the face.
8. Going to college. I literally cant wait to learn again, i cant even do simple math anymore! But it will also be a big change going from a mission trip to college life. Bring it.
9. My cat! there are so many street cats here that i just want to cuddle but apparently that is "dangerous" because they have "diseases" so ive been itching for a chance to cuddle with my darling kitten.
10. Again, i have to say my parents. I literally cant wait to just sit and watch tv with them.
So yeah. Thats basically my thoughts on leaving and returning to the land of the free and the home of the brave.
